Way to over react New England. or Snow Preparedness FAIL.
Friday, December 19th, 2008This country has gone soft. It makes me a little bit sick, a little bit sad, and a little bit angry. Last year there was a snow storm around this same time and people were not prepared for it and everyone ended up dropping the ball. Kids were stuck in buses, highways were jammed, cats and dogs were living together… I am going to generous and say that people were trapped for 8 hours. Whatever. Don’t get me wrong I feel bad for the kids, but they are kids they can entertain themselves, or do homework while on the bus. The people complaining about being stuck on the highway, meh. Maybe you should watch the weather and figure something out for yourself, “oh it might be snowy this afternoon and I won’t be able to drive unbelievably fast and reckless to pick up that something I must have. ”
Anyway, with a winter storm coming our way, the local area schools decided to cancel school today. I was shocked, appalled and annoyed. I didn’t walk uphill both ways through fire and brimmstone to get to school each day , but what I did do was, go to school even if snow was forcasted. We would get let out early and sent home. What happened to that?
Someone is obviously not doing their job or maybe it is many people, I don’t know exactly.
I guess we will see how bad todays storm is.
I’m breaking out my Freezy Freakies, moon boots, $5 sledĀ and waiting for the snow to fall!
